When the NCAA announced that the 2013 NCAA Men’s Final Four Championship was going to be held in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, excitement was shared by sports and music fans alike. In addition to the Final Four games, Atlanta will also be hosting a free Big Dance: Final Four concert series from April 5-7 in Centennial Park. Headliners for the weekend include, Sting, Muse and Dave Matthews Band. Additional performances include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Ludacris, Flo Rida and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
Getting into the city will be a little more difficult than usual as crowds of people will be pouring into the city to enjoy the free performances. To avoid the hassle of traffic and parking, consider taking the MARTA. Oxford students can take the Cliff Shuttles and either get off at Kensington MARTA or head to Atlanta Campus and take the #6 Emory MARTA bus to Lindbergh Station. From either one of those stations, you can get to Centennial Park. There are two MARTA stations close to Centennial Park: Peachtree Center on the red/gold line and Georgia Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena Station on the green/blue line.
