With February just around the corner, I’ve compiled a small list of Valentine’s date ideas. It’s two weeks away, so boys and girls, start saving your money so you can give that special someone a fun day in the city. You don’t necessarily have to enjoy this day with a significant other, grab your best friends and celebrate the love you all have for each other by trying out these activities:

1. Ponce City Market/ the Atlanta BeltLine

To start off the day take a stroll on the infamous Atlanta BeltLine. The BeltLine connects 45 neighborhoods by a 22 mile loop of trails and parks filled with art created by local artists. Once the sun goes down, head back to Ponce City Market to grab a bite at one of the many restaurants located inside. Afterwards, (window?) shop around the Market, which includes stores such as J. Crew, Anthropologie, and Lululemon.

2. Centennial Park and Ferris Wheel

If you are feeling like balling out for your boo, try this option. Stroll around Centennial Park located downtown. Afterwards, take your significant other to one of the many restaurants around, such as Cuts Steakhouse, Sun Dial, or Two Urban Licks. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time. To end the night, take a ride on the Ferris Wheel located next to Centennial and witness the beautiful sky line of Atlanta.

3. High Museum

For the couples that are art enthusiast I recommend visiting the leading art museum in Southeast, the High Museum. Current exhibitions include a commemoration of MLK Jr., a collection of African Art, and Donald Locke’s multicultural paintings and sculptures. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online.

4. Bodies: The Exhibition

For the Pre-Med couples, check out Bodies: The Exhibition located in Atlantic Station. The exhibit showcases internal organs and organic systems, bodies staged in active poses, and fetuses in various stages of development. Although it has brought about ethical concerns, this exhibition allows you to gain insight on the wonders of our bodily systems.

5. Ice Skate in Atlantic Station

If The Exhibition doesn’t sound too intriguing, check out this skating rink also located in Atlantic Station. The rink has been opened since November and closes its doors on Valentine’s Day, so go before it’s too late! Purchase tickets at the door; use your student discount on Tuesday’s)
