For Oxford students missing their feline friends back home or just needing a snuggle buddy to de-stress with, there’s a place in Atlanta that is purrfect.
The Happy Tabby is a cat cafe in Atlanta. Oxford students can take the shuttle to the Atlanta campus and then ride an Uber to get there. Each customer purchases time in the cat lounge at eight dollars an hour. Reservations are available, but not required. Customers must bring a credit or debit card, since Happy Tabby is a cash-free business.
Besides cats, the cafe also serves a variety of drinks, including coffees, teas, and juices. There is also a smaller selection of snacks and pastries. Food may be brought into the cat longue, but may not be shared with the cats. The cafe also sells its own branded shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts. These items may also be purchased online through their website. Anyone who plans to frequent Happy Tabby should ask for a stampable rewards card. After five visits, the sixth is free.
There are only two permanent resident cats at Happy Tabby. Most of the cats are adoptable through the Furkids Shelter. Anyone seeking to adopt a cat can approach Furkids through their website or in person for more information.
Happy Tabby is currently open Wednesday to Friday from 12:00pm – 8:00pm, Saturday from 10:00am – 8:00 pm, and Sunday from 11:00am – 8:00 pm. For any further questions, visit their website at https://happytabbycatcafe.com or call the owner, April Hill, at 678-640-4404. The cats are playful and relaxing to be around, so this is the perfect trip for anyone seeking to destress with friends after an intense week.
