After what looked to be a close series, the Red Sox won three games in a row to take the series 4-2. Through the first three games, the Cardinals were up two games to one after a wild walk-off on an obstruction call in game three. Boston fought back hard outscoring the Cardinals 13-4 in the final three games and was able to clinch at home yesterday. Last night’s game represents the first time the Red Sox clinched the World Series at home since 1918 and is the team’s third world championship victory since ’04.
David Ortiz, who went 11 for 16 in the series with 8 walks had an astounding .760 on base percentage and unsurprisingly won the MVP award for the series. My own prediction before the series was only a game off as I had that the Red Sox winning in 7.
