Also this year, a few days from the beginning of autumn, Xiaomi renews its smartphone line-up and launches the second top of the range of the 2021: Xiaomi 11 T Pro . Yes, you read it right, starting with these new products Xiaomi will no longer use the nickname Mi in front of the acronyms that identify their phones. This has always been the case in China and now that the brand has built a solid identity in Europe too, it has been decided to eliminate the “Mi” and give importance above all to the brand .

Returning to the new smartphone we therefore speak of 000 T Pro where T stands for “technology”. In fact, every year in this second flagship product Xiaomi inserts a technology that anticipates what will be one of the trends of the year to come. Last year it was the display at 144 Hz, this year we speak instead of fast charging at 120 W , which until now we had only glimpsed on board the Mi 10 Ultra, a smartphone that has never officially landed in our country.

The first sensation we have when we take out Xiaomi 11 T Pro from the sales package is to have to deal with a really generous product in terms of size and weight . 204 grams are not easy to manage, just as almost are not 77 millimeters in width and above 164 tall; data conditioned by display and battery measurements. Fortunately, the back cover, although smooth, offers a good grip and therefore we are not dealing with a “soap” smartphone. It still remains quite uncomfortable to keep in your trouser pocket, especially when we sit down.

That said, the construction is still good and the materials are undoubtedly of quality . The back cover is in glass, the frame in metal material and the display is protected by a Gorilla Glass Victus which it should guarantee excellent resistance to scratches and bumps. Fortunately, in these days of use I never dropped it, but despite having used it without special protections and without paying too much attention it would still seem perfectly intact in all its parts.

From the point of view purely aesthetic it is not a product that drives me crazy, on the contrary, I would say that in this glossy gray color it is quite anonymous, very, perhaps too much, similar to many other Xiaomi products. Let’s say for a top of the range like this one 11 T Pro I would have expected a touch a little more whimsical or otherwise characterizing.

There is no IP certification, or at least it is not officially declared, but I can assure you that it easily resists splashing water. So avoid immersing it but if you happen to use it in the rain, rest assured. On the right side, well positioned and easily accessible, we find the power button which integrates a fingerprint reader always fast and precise . However, a physical proximity sensor is still missing, replaced by the “ultrasonic” one already seen on board other products. In this Xiaomi 000 T Pro works slightly better but it is certainly not infallible.

Well instead the vibration, generated by the same motor we had in Mi 11 and Mi 11 Ultra. Beautiful clean, dry, precise, in short, exactly what I would like from a high-end product. Finally, the SIM trolley offers a slot for two SIM cards in Nano format but does not allow to expand the memory. A deliberate choice and dictated by the fact that some users use obsolete or poorly performing memory cards, thus affecting the performance of the smartphone. The memory cuts however start from 128 GB, enough to make expansion unnecessary in most cases .

In the description of this product I talked about the display and how it affects the size of the smartphone. Yes, 6, 67 inches are many but if the panel is of good quality like that of this one 11 T Pro we are all happier to compromise. Let’s talk about an AMOLED screen with FHD + resolution , HDR support 10 and an aspect ratio of 20: 9.

The maximum brightness is very good, Xiaomi declares 800 nit, I have measured approximately 600 peak and 500 constant, however a good figure. The panel is therefore perfectly legible even under sunlight, with precise colors and sufficiently faithful to the standard. Too bad for an anti-reflection treatment that is not exactly effective. Delta E’s, with the sRGB setting, are very close to 3 for both grays and colors; values ‚Äč‚Äčthat in emergency and on the move allow you to use the Xiaomi display 11 T Pro for proofreading jobs that require some accuracy in terms of tonal reproduction accuracy.

In all this we must not forget the dynamic refresh rate which can reach 120 Hz . This is an exaggerated value, at present it is difficult to find applications that natively support this refresh rate and it will take a while for mobile games to adapt. In any case, if you think it is useless, you can still lower it to a more classic one 60 Hz, saving maybe something in terms of autonomy.

Then I spend a few words about the audio that it is obviously stereo and, beyond the Dolby Atmos certification and the collaboration with Harmand Kardon (usual marketing gimmicks), it offers a made very good . The volume is high, quite high, mids and highs are well present and you can also hear a semblance of bass, little stuff but still better than many alternatives currently on the market.

The speakerphone is also very good, which uses the same speakers, and the audio in the capsule is also good, which reproduces a faithful timbre and is always clear, even at maximum volume.

In the back cover of Xioami 11 T Pro finds place on photographic compartment which consists of three modules , each with a different sensor and lens to achieve different purposes. We therefore have a main camera with sensor from 108 megapixel, 7-element lens with f / 1 aperture. 75 and optical stabilization, followed by a wide angle with 120 degrees of field of view and 8 megapixel sensor and closes the trio a module with macro lens and 5 megapixel sensor.

The 108 megapixel is no longer a novelty and Xiaomi is from time to time time by optimizing the algorithms to make it always perform at its best. The photos taken during the day are great , and I would be amazed otherwise. Colors are always vivid, white balance is correct, details are sharp, and focus is fast and precise. I also really appreciated the way HDR is applied which is never excessive but does its job effectively.

Good low light photos too thanks to the possibility of using the night mode. The optical stabilization guarantees a good stability and the possibility to shoot with a little bit longer times; important feature to facilitate the work of the algorithm. The images are therefore bright, but without being fake, and the white balance is always very good.

Speaking of the camera wide angle , in my opinion the best and most useful interpretation of the second camera, we can say that the photos taken during the day offer the same quality level as the main module. The captured images are sharp, with bright colors and generally characterized by an excellent management of the areas of light and shadow. Here, too, I liked the work of the HDR that applies a never excessive filter. Contrary to what happened in the past then, even with the wide angle it is possible to use the night mode and thus get good shots even when the light is scarce. We are not yet on the levels of the standard module, the details are a little more spread and the background noise less balanced, but in general they are still pleasant photos to observe at 360 degrees on the smartphone screen.

And finally here is the macro , a camera that I always use very little; I would probably have preferred an optical zoom, even if not exaggerated. This type of lens allows you to have a certainly particular point of view thanks to the focus that works even at a very close distance, but the situations in which you will need it are very few. Here too, as for the wide angle, it is better to limit its use to optimal light conditions.

On the front we find a camera inserted in a hole in the upper left corner of the display. The sensor is here from 20 megapixels and we are talking about a module with overall good performance. Selfies are discreet in all situations and I certainly appreciated being able to activate the night mode even with the front camera .

Speaking instead of video, another element on which Xiaomi has paid a lot of attention, with the standard module we can reach a maximum resolution of 8K at 30 fps , but we know well how currently it is still only a kind of exercise in style and it is evident that the best results are obtained by recording in 4K at 60 fps . The videos are very good in terms of image quality and focusing speed and accuracy. Stabilization has improved, although some small artifacts can still be seen on some occasions. Let’s say there are some competitors who still do better but we appreciate the fact that Xiaomi continues to work on it.

I cannot fail to mention the presence of some particular filters and shooting modes that allow us to obtain very nice videos in a few moments. Cinematic effects that would require long shutter speeds or special equipment and which are simulated here thanks to the use of artificial intelligence. Of course we can’t think of shooting a movie but creating funny and professional-looking clips to post on social media is now a little more affordable for everyone.

8K video and level performance that is obviously possible thanks to the hardware present under the body. Inside the Xiaomi 11 T Pro we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC 888, the most powerful of those currently available. A top processor then, accompanied by 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM memory and by 128 or 256 GB of storage on UFS 3.1 memories . Here too, both for RAM and internal memory, these are the best solutions on the market in terms of speed. All this can only translate into performance at the height of all the top of the range on the market in every situation. There is a version equipped with 12 GB of RAM but after using the 8 GB one for a few days I honestly wonder what those extra 4 GB can do.

The applications always run perfectly, the system it is responsive in all situations and multitasking is handled very well . The 8 GB of RAM allow you to keep 6-7 applications open in the background without too many problems and then switch between one to the other without waiting for various uploads. Even when you go to call up an application in stand-by, then, the awakening occurs in a few moments, almost without realizing it.

  • Dimensions: 128, 1 x 76, 9 x 8.8 mm for 204 grams
  • Operating system: Android 11 with MIUI 12. 5.4
  • Display: IPS of 6, 67 “FHD + with refresh rate at 120 Hz, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus
  • SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 888
  • GPU: Adreno 660
  • 8 / 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM
  • 128 / 256 GB of internal memory UFS 3.1
  • Connectivity: 5G VoLTE, NFC, WiFi 802. 11 aX, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C, GPS, Dual-SIM
  • Triple rear cam from 108 + 8 + 5MP
  • Front cam from 20 MP
  • Battery: 5000 mAh with quick charge a 120 W

Ma Snapdragon 888 is not just performance , indeed, among the most important features of this SoC there is definitely the integration of a modem X 60 which obviously enables the reception of 5G networks on both SIMs, in case you need to use two SIM cards. Reception is always good, the signal is hooked up quickly and we hardly lose it.

In addition to 5G, there is no shortage of NFC for contactless payments and WiFi 6 which is starting to take hold and is now available on some routers with a decidedly democratic price. The bluetooth is then in version 5.2, allowing us to connect two pairs of headphones at the same time, and we obviously have the GPS with A-GPS, Glonass, Beidou and Galileo.

The operating system is obviously Android, customized with the proprietary MIUI interface 12. 5.4 . There is nothing new compared to the latest Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones announced and tested in this one 2021. It remains a fairly complete interface and all in all much less Chinese than it was some time ago. I always really appreciate the settings menu full of always appreciated extra features.

To underline the new company policy which, starting from these 11You 11 T Pro said they want to guarantee well 3 OS updates, we talk obviously of major release, and 4 years of security patches. An important commitment that if carried out continuously will make Xiaomi one of the most attentive companies from this point of view.

0 TO 100 IN 23 MINUTES

And here we are at the end talking about autonomy , but above all recharging. Inside this Xiaomi 11 T Pro we find a module from ben 5. 000 mAh which allows us to arrive in the evening without any problem even with very intense use. If we then think of a weekend away from the stress of work, from the thousands of calls and from the daily routine, it cannot be excluded that we can get to total a day and a half or even two without the need to recharge.

Even if it were needed, however, the problem is not so great since to complete a refill with the charger in pack of 120 W you only need 23 minutes from phone off and completely discharged, or 17 minutes starting from 2% of charge. In short, the time for breakfast and a quick shower is yours 11 T Pro is charged, even before you know it.

In my view this fast charging is the most innovative innovation. interesting in recent years in the smartphone field; and indeed I would take advantage of it to use less capacious batteries and reduce the size and weight of products like this Xiaomi (who has ears to understand intends).

We are at the moment to take stock and we start as usual talking about the price. Availability for all channels starts from 28 September and, in detail, Xiaomi 000 T Pro in version 8 – 108 GB will also be available on Amazon at a list price of 550 eur or, the variant 8 – 256 GB is instead an exclusive mi.com and will cost 699 EUR. I would say that already, considering the characteristics and what is shown in these days of testing, the prices are certainly aligned with the type of product.

As always, however, Xiaomi has decided to spice up the launch and only for the first ones 24 h who buys the new one 11 T Pro on mi.com will receive a MI TV P1 bundle 32 “and a Mi Watch . Buying the smartphone on Amazon you will immediately get a voucher worth 100 euro from sca remove immediately from the cart. By doing so, the starting price of Xiaomi 11 T Pro version 8 – 128 will be substantially of 549 EUR; it’s almost a shame to miss it.
